Fun, Safety and Knowledge

That’s the GWRRA Moto, and here at Chapter A we put it into practice. We are all about having Fun, and we strive to be Safe at all times, and we are always trying to increase our Knowledge. We have a great bunch of people that would love to invite you to come join us. Check out our site and learn a little about us. We have a lot of great info here to share with you. Read a few of our Newsletters and check out the Photos to see what we have been up to lately. We invite you to come join us anytime, whether you are a weekend rider or you live on your bike. We are kind of like potato chips, if you come ride with us once you will have to come again...

Monthly Social

We gather on the third Tuesday of each month at the Whole Hog Cafe, 5107 Warden Road in North Little Rock, Arkansas at 6:30PM.  This ia a public gathering and open to all motorcyclists regardless of the type of bike you ride.  The Gold Wing Road Riders Association does not restrict membership to those with Goldwing's alone.  Owners of all makes and models of bikes are very welcome.  Come visit with us for great food and fellowship.  This is a social gathering, with very little business so come prepared to have fun.

Visit their web site HERE.

Our motto of "Fun, Safety and Knowledge" applies to all.

River City Wings would like to thank the great folks at Honda of Russeville for their support.  Stop in and let them know how much you appreciate their support.

We are very proud of all of our sponsors and invite you to check out our Sponsors Page.  Then show them how much you appreciate their support by frequenting their businesses and while you are there, tell them "Thank You".

Stroke Test

Lets hope you will not ever have the chance to try this but thought it was very good information I found prowling the internet. Might be useful information that you can use some day!

     Smile-Arms-Sentence

Symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness can spell disaster. The stroke victim may suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.  Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

  • Ask the individual to smile.
  • Ask him or her to raise both arms.
  • Ask the person to speak a simple sentence.

If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher. After discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general public to learn the three questions. They presented their conclusions to the American Stroke Association. Widespread use of this test could result in a prompt diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and prevent possible brain damage.

WHY IS THERE A NEED TO INCREASE MOTORISTS AWARENESS?

  • Approximately 3/4 of motorcycle accidents involve a collision with another vehicle, usually a passenger automobile
  • Of these accidents the driver of the vehicle violates the motorcycle right-of-way and causes the accident in 2/3 of the accidents
  • Drivers of the vehicles involved in a collision are generally unfamiliar with motorcycles
  • Failure of motorists to detect and recognize motorcycles in traffic is the predominating cause of motorcycle accidents

Here is a two and a half minute video that will help you understand why we love riding in Arkansas so much.  It was produced by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.

If you would like the brochure mentioned in the video, HERE it is in PDF format. (6.3Mb)

Watch the video then come and enjoy riding with us as we explore the roads of the Natural State.  Chapter A would like to extend a warm and congenial welcome to anyone interested in enjoying the Great State of Arkansas to come ride with us.  There is just so much here to see.
